These are the only people in the United States who will be able to get their new Social Security retirement checks in the next few hours. If you are in this group, you will soon get the check. You might not get a new payment until September if that doesn’t happen. Your payment might have already been sent in August.
People who don’t get their new Social Security payment right away and don’t have a check for August may still need to file a claim. That is, if you are not in Group 4 and your retirement payment is not in your bank account, you may have to wait longer for your benefit.
No matter what, this is the last recorded payment for September on the Social Security calendar. No, that doesn’t mean the next payment is in August. There is still one more payment to come. This extra payment is supposed to be part of the September payment plan, and the due date would be September 1, but there is a mistake in the schedule.
Which retirees get Social Security within hours?
This new Social Security payment is being sent to seniors in Group 4 today, August 28. Every month, this group is the last to get their payment. There are two things you need to do to get this cash. You should check to see if you meet them to see if you will get paid in the next few hours.
The requirements to be part of this group are:
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month
- Have a Social Security benefit after May 1997
Just meeting these standards is enough to get a check for today. But there is one more thing we need to add. People who set up Direct Deposit get their Social Security check on the same day it is mailed. So, today, August 28th, only people who have this collection method turned on will be able to get it. In a few days, if you haven’t already, the cash will come through Direct Deposit.
After this payment, the September SSI will come on August 30th. However, the next group of retirees won’t be able to get their new Social Security check until September 3rd, so we will have to wait a little while longer to see another retirement check.
