After a certain amount of time, Social Security Disability benefits stop for the month. In this way, anyone in the United States who gets Social Security can find out when the last day is to get their retirement check. This makes it easy to keep track of the money in the family.
You can’t tell if your retirement or disability check comes on the first or last days of the month, though, if you don’t know which group of retirees you’re in. August 28 is the last day of the month when some Americans can get paid, and that’s the only day these people can get paid.
Depending on the method of collection, the payment may not show up right away in your bank account. You may have to wait a few extra days before you can use the check for Disability. All of these options are very important because they tell us whether we will get the payment soon or later. That’s why you should pay close attention to all the details that affect when you get Social Security payments when you leave.
Last check for Social Security Disability in August
Besides everything that has to do with the early August checks, the 28th day payment has its own rules. It’s possible that we might not be able to get this new retirement payment if we already got one last week. You might be able to get this check, though, if your Social Security Disability payment hasn’t yet hit your bank account.
To be eligible for this check we are going to have to meet two requirements:
- Have a benefit since after May 1997, whether for Disability or other reasons.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Besides that, the way the data is collected is important, as we already said. This means that we will be able to get paid right away if Direct Deposit is turned on. People who haven’t set up this way of collection will have to wait a few days before they can get their retirement money.
Extra Social Security Disability Payment
This payment is not the only one that Social Security may send this week. They are the only ones who can get this other extra payment. There are some things you need to do to get an extra Social Security check on August 30th:
- Have your Supplemental Security Income check accepted.
- Have Direct Deposit activated as a collection method.
So, whether we have disability SSI or not, we will be able to get our September payment on August 30th. Since September 1st is a weekend, the Social Security Administration can send out checks earlier. This is why this payment is made early.
